A snippet collection of interest to the vested Outsider Writer

philofers1Independent York House Press has an idea for faked memoirs; sell them as fiction…so obvious! | Small press pushes back the big guys by claiming excessive returns here and here; weren’t the current returns policies created to combat the 30’s depression – what should we make of this litigious step considering the current economic crisis? | Nathan Tyree, Outsider Writers Collective member and Kansas man serializes his new novel | Despite bad news everywhere the National Endowment for the Arts says that the number of fiction readers is up for the first time in years – next on the agenda, reading decent books | More on the staying power of books and a backwards compliment to boot: “If you choose to create entertainment that demands reading, you are deliberately choosing the most inaccessible of art forms from which to make your living.” | After news that guys don’t read (and my reaction) some forward momentum comes out of Oxford University Press to hopefully cultivate those “testy” children into ambitious literatouers | I’ve never heard of author Roberto Saviano until now – idea for fame: have a hit-man on your back | Naked Opinion guy Tim Hall’s slipcase project may be fun, but come on – where’s your Sharkskin!

In this day and age I don’t know why even the large publishers aren’t using pod.

Maybe the kinesthetic buyers need to visit the store and thumb the pages, but I’d rather order online and go wait by the mailbox.
