From the mind of Alveraz Ricardez comes the first of a 12 issues comic-book series. Departing from the American tradition of superheroes, this story takes place miles below Earth's surface where the last refuge of humanity is overcome by a sweeping plague. One man uncovers the truth behind the disease and its connection to a fabled land called The Overground. He leads a resistance of young revolutionaries against a corrupt autocracy on a quest to save his race from extinction and to lead them into utopia.

Team Overground reports that the first installment is ready to print and they are presently seeking a publisher. The story will be presented as a twelve part series with a new issue slated for montly distribution.
I asked Alveraz if they were trying to make a political statement or merely entertain. "Aha!" he replied, "Now this is a question I can get into. I wanted to accomplish two things when I started The Overground. I wanted to impress my kids and I wanted to shape a world around a political force and a defiant revolutionary. My kids don't get it (yet) but the arch of the "proletariat" will really take over in the 3rd and 4th book. It was the idea of writing my own take on power, greed and class struggle that got me jazzed in the first place. The characters were initially incidental, but of course they grew into strong catalysts for the story."
