I guess everyone is going the poetry.com route these days where you release an anthology and get the contributers to essentually pay for their own poetry. Pay to see themselves published or whatever you want to call it. Recently I have been published in two different anthologies that I have never seen. Why because I guess I would be too stuborn to pay to see my own poetry published. Maybe I've been published enough that I really don't care at this point. That is something that I just don't do and I don't have a lot of money to spend on it.
Econmically I do understand that these books did cost money to print, and one of the anthologies I mentioned was a benefit. But what money comes out of being a poet? We get contributers copies and that's about all we get. Now I guess we're not even getting that anymore. You know how they say that poetry.com is a scam because essentually they try to get you to buy your own poetry? My question is what does that make these people? Questions, comments, or whatever you have to offer below. Last update : 26-10-2007 08:05
