Karl Koweski writes like a man's man. Though he is technically not a good 'ol boy from the south, much of his work has that feeling.
In "Diminishing Returns", Karl shows a deeper look into his boyhood with several poems, and they are laced with a man's struggle to live in the present while the past is still clinging to him. Karl has a knack for taking serious subject matters, stripping them down to a raw level, and infusing them with just enough humor as to get you close enough to the fire without getting burned. As with his other works, there is something for everyone from tribulations of marriage and children to disappearing porn collections. This book has been well worth the wait and worth the money. The book is well crafted by Sunnyoutside Press with a very clean look and the cover photograph by Karl himself. Don't hesitate to put this book in your small press collection, because without it in there, it isn't complete. Last update : 08-09-2007 14:23
