Watchword Press is a nonprofit publishing house dedicated to producing, publishing, and disseminating cutting-edge literary works to a wide audience.

At Watchword Press, we are concerned that a small number of media conglomerates are controlling most of the publishing conduits in the United States. A Publisher´s Weekly article predicted that in 1999, the top twenty publishers would account for 93% of sales and the ten largest publishers would account for 75% of revenues. In America today, six publishing houses now control 4/5 of the overall market. These statistics can have a daunting effect on emerging and experimental writers who seek to be published. Watchword Press is committed to providing a new, editorial-driven, and creative outlet for these innovative and inspired writers.

Now Accepting Submissions for Issue 10

Watchword Press is now accepting submissions for Issue 10 of previously unpublished short stories, essays, translated work, poetry, and book excerpts. Please send work to be considered by September 15th, 2007. Please limit submissions to 15 pages double spaced. Please do not send links to web pages where your work is posted.
