The real treasure of this book is the second part, Tales From Mount Carmel, stories about a small mountain town told through the eyes of the Postmaster, who knows everybody's little secrets and sees himself as the town historian. As you read, you can picture him in front of you, telling his stories and the town's gossip.
The book is written in a very natural, conversational way. The simplicity of it, that’s what makes it all come together. Honestly, this is the most brilliant piece of prose I have read in a long time. The only regret that I have is that it is only thirty-five pages. I would love to see him go deeper into this.
What he has here is a treasure and I would strongly recommend that people check out this book.
