king of detours become a king today order mr. routine to be beheaded take a match to the itinerary play fucking hooky go sit in a cafe and drink coffee go sit in a bar and sip a drink in the middle of the day give the middle finger to the sun sit on a stool or in a chair play the jukebox punch those codes in and just sit there and listen sit there like a king today the king of detours the easter bunny & the american way spring is here today and soon those over-sized blow-up plastic lawn figures of the fucking easter bunny will be standing on suburban properties among leftover patches of dirty styrofoam-like snow at one time as a child i used to be excited for this holiday i loved the shiny plastic green grass in the baskets the chocolate of course the bags of jelly beans but now the first thing that comes to mind when i see these big rabbits waving at me as i pass through the streets is: boxcutter i can imagine the feeling of the blade slashing through that giant plastic bunny then the sinking of it down into a wrinkled sack exposing it for what it really is: not a flourish of colors and a big welcoming bucktooth grin but just a bag of empty air on the inside not a promise of renewal and shiny gifts but just a basket of void kinda like the american flag Last update : 22-04-2007 18:48
