some things i found out about ginsberg while in his office -- Rob Plath
Page 2

he hated the image "rotten mandolins" in "kaddish"
& he didn't even know what it meant himself

he never read bukowski (and asked me to bring him
some of his best stuff to read)

he drank out of an washed-out peanut butter jar
because it had a cover and held fluid well

he really liked mick jagger in the tight football
pants he wore on stage

he wouldn't bring gregory corso in to substitute teach
because he might get nervous and insult everyone

as a little boy he wished for magic powers
so he could make people fall in love with him

he had problems shitting and told me to read whitman's sands
at seventy section of leaves of grass where walt mentions
his own constipation

he wrote better after he got laid, got
cumming out of the way

I really liked this when I first saw it on Rob's site. He has Ginsberg's style down, liked the mix of fact, fiction, Ginsberg & Rob (or the narrator).

I've drunk stuff out of a washed out peanut butter jar, but only the glass ones.

That doesn't surprise me at all. I've read some accounts by other students of Allen G and if he had money, he never spent much of it on himself.

About OW!
Outsider Writers have been distributing chapbooks in dark subterranean caverns for too long. The corporate presses and literary institutions have no vision. The media is irrelevant. It's time to rise into the sun!

Our Goal: Unite the write! We will join forces where we are strong, eliminate duplication of effort where we are weak and put the power and authority over literature back into the hands of the only legitimate owners: the authors and the readers.
